Play Ball!

Softball and T-ball has started up again -- Chase is playing for the Reds this season. They currently have a great record.. 4-1 I think. Chase usually plays third base but has also played in the left field.

Madison is playing in PeeWee (coach pitch) on the Tar Heels. She's playing right field and is hitting great off the pitch -- no T this season! Recently she participated in a pitching clinic and the director said she has great potential and he hopes she continues to practice and learn to pitch!

Fine Art!

Madison's Water Lillies!

We are so proud of Madison. Her art was recently chosen for a county-wide art show, "Tapestry". The recent reception was well-attended and included entries from schools across the county in grades Kindergarten through 12th grade.

Madison's rendition of Monet's Water Lillies is a mixed-media piece and is quite lovely! The art show was held at the main county offices and her work has now been returned for display at Duncan Creek.

Good job Madie!

Cookies Anyone!?

We had fun selling cookies at the local Kroger! Madie liked working the "cash box" and making change the best but she was pretty good about asking shoppers "Would you like to by some Girl Scout cookies?" We sold about 60 boxes during our 90 minutes. Great!

Snow Days!

We had a wonderful weekend! Sunday afternoon the snow moved in...big fat flakes. We got about an inch I guess; it was fun to be in the middle of it. The kids made a snowman and froze their noses and toes!

Lookin' Good

The kids loved getting their Valentine's packages -- thanks! Madie looks (and feels) pretty in her Hannah Montana 'hoodie' -- great find. And Chase is dapper after learning fire safety at school.

Be Careful What You Say!

Chase has joined the Sonshine Choir at church and had a wonderful performance on Sunday -- they are all too cute. (Okay, I'm going to try and insert a video into this post ...hmmmm....)

Chase has choir practice every Wednesday at 5 (Madie has practice in Kidz Praize at the same time; that's 1-5th grade) and then we eat dinner with our church friends. After that it's on to J-Towne for Madie and Chase and I head over to try and fix my attitude in the ladies bible study! Speaking of which, I have laundry to do before we head out this evening. TTFN!

Father/Daughter Dance!

Mike and Madie were all decked out for the Brownie Scouts' Father/Daughter dance this past Saturday. The girls were asked to dress as their favorite princess and so Madie remembered how much she liked her "Renaissance Princess" dress. They "had a blast", enjoying dinner and dancing until the "wee" hours (definitely past bedtime!) She even earned a patch for her Brownie vest in the process!
